Flight Delayed? Chill Out at the Spa!

At the Delhi IGI airport where the basic facilities are missing most of the time, DIAL is planning to offer spa and other facilities by the end of 2008. Firstly I doubt if they will be ready by the deadline as deadlines don’t exist when it comes to India. Secondly I am pretty sure Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit will inaugurate the facility… she will get a massage and a steam and that will be the first and the last day of operation. Thirdly DIAL is claiming that most of the facilities will be free, who are they kidding? Even the free telephone call from the lounge have been withdrawn and they plan to offer free massages. Just another tall claim!

The next time the infamous Delhi fog delays your flight at the airport, just sit back and soothe your frayed nerves with a foot or shoulder massage. The upcoming domestic departure terminal l-D of the Delhi airport, expected to be ready by the end of 2008, will offer lounges with facilities such as spa, massage centre, shower, napping areas, food courts and gymnasiums to passengers.

There will be separate lounges for budget, business class and VIP passengers and most services will be free.

“The lounges will provide passengers, transiting through Delhi or waiting for their flights, an opportunity to relax in comfort. Delhi is a major changeover point for most Indian cities as well as overseas flight connections,” said a senior DIAL official.
