I did not vote for the Congress to read this in the papers. Mr. Praful Patel (Civil Aviation Minister) has decided not to have a public / private partnership in developing the airports. Mr. Patel is forgetting that the government run AAI does not have a good track record to do any kind of expansion or modernization. As a matter of fact the word modernization probably does not even exist in AAI’s dictionary. At least the private sector is getting our rundown airports to international standard. I remember times a few years ago, I have seen stray dogs running inside the baggage collection area.

To avoid protests from the opposition and union, the minister has taken this decision. I think would be a major setback to India’s progress. Classic signs of poor leadership.
