Shopping at Indiatimes.com?
If you have ever shopped on indiatimes.com, then this logo would be a tad bit familiar to you. While shopping online, I am usually very careful to read all the terms and conditions especially on Indian shopping portals. The fine print can be something else and what is advertised when you buy can be totally different.
I was randomly browsing through indiatimes shopping portal when I came across the 15 day money back logo on the bottom of the website, this was a welcome surprise as Indian companies rarely offer any money back guarantee. So I decided to dig a little deep and had a look at their terms and conditions for the money back.
To my horror, the money back guarantee turned out to be a hollow lie. Read the fine print below.
1. 15 Days Return Policy will not be applicable on products having manufacturer’s warranty.
2. 100% Money Back assurance will not be applicable on product having manufacturer warranty.
3. TIL reserves the rights to stop the promotion at any given time and/or change, modify, withdraw, partially withdraw or extend the said promotion, at its sole discretion without any prior notice and no correspondence in this regard shall be entertained.
These days, products rarely comes without the manufacturer’s warranty unless you are talking about unbranded socks!. Does this mean that almost 90% of the products sold on indiatimes shopping are not covered under the 15 days money back?
I think this is yet again a rip off by a “trusted” online portal. Please be very careful when you shop online, read the terms and conditions before you take out your credit card.
I had the worst shopping experience of my life with indiatimes. My advice to all plz do not even consider indiatimes.shopping.com for all your money’s worth

I have really annoyed to Indiantimes shopping. I have placed order for 6220 PDA Blackberry handset and sent the amount by SBI DD on 13/2/09 through Speed Post. And the amount was withdrawn by the firm.
Times Internet Limited, Darya Ganj New Delhi. Yet I am not getting any convincing reply from them nor from Indiantimes shopping. Will the Indiantimes shopping enquire from their list and take appropriate action ? If fact I have written before but only asking me to send the order No/ID which I have unknownly deleted.
On 29/8/2009 I ordered the gem set (18 pieces) through SMS 58888, and till date no one has come to my contact address regarding the same.
Their customer service is terribly Bad.Almost no response. They sent me entirely different product .Huge money lost.
I had placed an order for a pen camera in the month of oct’09. It was delivered only after advance was paid by cheque. However, the camera was faulty, had no user manuel and no warranty card. I was told to contact the manufacturer who sent the manuel by email. It had 1 month warranty from manufacturer. Hence, i requested it be picked up and money be refunded. It was taken promptly, but, i am yet to get the refund back even after 3 months. They keep sending autogenerated emails saying they will respond within 24 hrs. But strangely, they have not replied at all. I would like to know where can a complaint be lodged now.
