The 4.7km Bandra-Worli Sealink opened yesterday. It took over 8 years to build instead of 3 years which was scheduled. Due to the delay the cost went up 2 times to 852 cr. Instead of Rs.400 cr. Still only 1 side of the sealink is operational. My guess is that it will take another 8 years for the other lanes to open 😉

On a sharp contrast to the above. Mayawati has spent over Rs.1000 cr. In Uttar Pradesh, erecting statues of herself and Elephants (her party symbol) and the center has not been able to do anything about it. What a waste of money.
