I really don’t understand why the government wants to collect more education tax when they are not able to utilize on what they have already collected last year. I full agree that the underprivileged should get free education but i am 2 minds when it comes to increasing quota. Rs. 11,000 Crore had been collected last year… can you believe this figure? Jjust about 40% has been used. This figure will jump to about Rs. 15,000 Crore if the education cess is increased to 3%.

If the funds remain unused even next year, the government would have about Rs. 15,000 Crore (Unused funds from 2006 & 2007.) Isn’t this an open invitation to another scam.
