Airtel Does it Again

My worst experience with Airtel yet. I registered for a new phone / broadband connection on the 30th of March and was told that the new connection would be up in 4-5 days max. I double checked with the engineer who had come to do the paperwork if there were enough lines available for the area and he assured me that everything was checked before he came and that i would not have a problem… today after 10 whole days also no phone line. I called the engineer and asked him the reason, he told there is some ‘Technical’ issue. I asked him “what is the technical issue”? and he told me that there were no box space available, even though there is a line running there. So instead of taking some pain and getting an extra box fixed, they simply refused to provide me connection. Keep in mind that they have already taken the cheques from me and wasted 10 days of my time. If it was up to Airtel, these guys would have take at least a few weeks before they themselves would tell me the problem.

Also a piece of advice for people who are booking a phone line. If you want to get a Beetle cordless phone, the engineer would discourage you from taking it, saying that there is a problem with the phone. I have checked with a number of people who have the same cordless phone on Airtel and there is nothing wrong with it. I can’t figure out why they would not want to sell the phone, unless they are selling it in grey elsewhere, keep in mind that the cordless is value for money and is available for much less direct from Airtel then on the market.

This trauma has made me switch from Airtel to MTNL.

THEY DID THE SAME THING TOOK THE MONEY FOR 6 MONTHS IN ADVANCE AND RAN AWAY WITHOUT CHEKING THE IF THERE ARE ANY PROBLEMS FOR CONNECTING, ITS NOW 5 MONTHS YUP HEARD IT RIGHT 5 MONTHS THEY NEVER CALLED NOR RETURNED MY MONEY BLOODY SCUMS.I AM CHANDIGARH NOW I AM GOING BACK TO MUMBAI,HOPE THEY DONT REPEAT THE SAME RUBBISH THERE !!

I HAD APPLIED FOR A WI-FI BROADBAND CONNECTION WITH AIRTEL THROUGH THEIR SALES EXECUTIVE SACHIN ARORA ON 9/2/2010 VIZ (WI-FI FREE WITH 3-MONTHS ADVANCE RENTAL FOR RS.1947/-@PLAN 649/- PER MONTH UNLIMITED PLAN). AS SUCH AFTER 2-DAYS I WAS TOLD THAT NO DSL LINE IS FREE IN OUR BLOCK’S AIRTEL BOX. SO WE WILL BE PROVIDED DSL LINE ON OUR OLD TELEPHONE NO-011-42502250, WITH WI-FI FREE OF COST FOR THE INSTRUMENT. I SAID O.K.,AND ASKED THEM TO DO THE NEEDFULL.
    THE DSL CONNECTION WAS PROVIDED W.E.F-13/2/2010.BUT THE LINE DID NOT WORK PROPERLY W.E.F-16/02/2010 ITSELF, AND A COMPLAIN WAS LODGED WITH REQ.REF.NO.-011-42502250 / 29610948 , WHICH WILL BE ADDRESSED LATEST BY 17/2/2010. BUT COULD NOT BE DONE TO MY SATISFACTION TILL 21/2/2010 SENDING ME MESSAGE REGARDING MY REQ.NO-29610948,IS UNDER PROCESS AND IS BEING ACTIONED ON PRIORITY.
    BUT TILL DATE I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH THE RESPONSE.
    ABOVE ALL TO MY HORRER I HAVE RECIEVED A BILL WITH WI-FI CHARGES LEVIED @1000/- FOR THE WI-FI INSTRUMENT,+ SERVICE CHARGES, WHICH WAS SUPPOSE TO BE FREE OF COST AS MENTIONED ON THE FORM AND OTHER PAPERS. NOW I WANT EITHER MY COMPLETE ADVANCE PAYMENT OF RS.1947/-PAID TH.CHEQUE AND DISCONNECTION OF MY DSL LINE ON NO-011-42502250 OR COMPLETE REFUND OF WI-FI-CHARGES INCLUDING SERVICE TAX LEVIED IN THE BILL RAISED FOR THE MONTH OF FEB-2010. PLEASE RESPOND WITH IMMIDEATE EFFECT. THE CONCERNED SALES PERSONS WERE MR.SACHIN ARORA

  4. Same is happening with me. I am calling them fro last 3 days. when i call by a new number they attend the call and says that internet will be fixed in 1-2 hours and then no response. some time the fitter is in meeting. have you ever heard about such meetings??
    what a joke.. I am changing my connection to bsnl . and I am not going top pay there last bill. I advice all of you to do the same if they do not answer their call..
    I choosed air-tel because I thought that they will provide good service. but I have made mistake by choosing airtel.. very very wrong descison..
